I remember when this was the kind of stuff Steyn used to write about full-time when he was the musical theater critic for one of the UK broadsheets and his gods were the likes of Ethel Merman rather than Dick Cheney. Maybe he's sensing a change in the air and is sidling back to his former ways before the wingnut welfare dries up.
